Learn Printmaking in Taipei
Woodblock printing has its roots in East Asia and China dating back millennia in this part of the world. Printmaking remains an important pillar of arts and culture in Taiwan, making it the perfect place to experience and learn more about printmaking!
In these workshops, you will learn about and get the chance to learn, design, carve and print your own distinctive prints.
Our classes are conducted our charming crafts space at the historic and conveniently located Ximen in central Taipei.

Introduction to Woodcut Printmaking
Knowledge required
Suitable for adult beginners who have no or limited previous experience with printmaking!
What you’ll do
In this single session workshop, you will be introduced to the techniques of making a woodcut print. Your instructor will help guide you through planning and creating a successful single-colour print.
You will get to practice using the various tools before deciding on your final design. You will cut your design and hand burnish your one of a kind print which you will take home!
The workshop typically takes between 4-5 hours.
What you’ll get
All materials including tools, paper and ink will be provided on the day.
As we may be using oil based inks, your clothes might get stained. Please wear old clothes. Aprons and plastic gloves will be provided.
What to bring
If you have an idea of what you would like to make, bring along some photos, sketches or a mood boards on the day of your class. Don’t worry if you don’t have any ideas, you will likely find some along the way! All other tools and equipment equipment will be provided.
