Single Session Pottery Workshop
Knowledge required
No prior pottery experience? No worries! Our beginner single-day pottery workshop is designed with newcomers in mind. Whether you’re a complete novice or simply want to try your hand at pottery for the first time, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to dip your fingers into the clay. Our friendly and knowledgeable instructors will walk you through the basics, from clay handling to basic shaping techniques, ensuring a fun and fulfilling experience. So, come join us for a day of creativity, laughter, and hands-on pottery fun. Unleash your inner artist and create something truly unique!
What you’ll do
In this single session workshop, you will be introduced to both handbuilding techniques and interested participants can also try their hand at throwing on the potter’s wheel!
You will get personalized instruction from our ceramics teacher during your session, and you may continue to work on your pieces until the closing time of the day.
What you’ll get
All materials including clay, tools, and the use of equipment such as the potter’s wheel are included in the course fees.
In addition, light refreshments (a drink and a dessert) will also be provided as part of the course.
Please note that after you have after you have created your masterpieces, you can decide which pieces you would like to keep (and the rest will be recycled into clay that can be used again!). These pieces will be glazed and fired in our kiln before it will be ready for collection in about three to four weeks. If you have a tighter timeline, please feel free to contact us and we will be able to advise you accordingly.
What to bring
If you have an idea of what you would like to make, bring along some photos, sketches or a Pinterest mood board on the day of your class. Don’t worry if you don’t have any ideas, you will likely find some along the way! All other tools, equipment and even aprons will be provided.

What you’ll do
This multi-session course allows you to delve deeper into handbuilding and wheelthrowing.
- Handbuilding In the first three sessions, you will journey through getting to know the material to learning handbuilding techniques such as pinching, coiling and slab building.
- Wheelthrowing In the later part of the course, you will be taught how to throw various forms on the potter’s wheel.
While we have the above outline for our course, your experience is highly customizable. If you have some forms in mind or would like to hone in on any particular skill or technique, please feel free to let us know when booking your course.
